Becoming a mother is a radical experience.
Motherhood is genuine work, but unlike other types of work – like, say, working for an income. Motherhood has no political gain, or agenda – it is a natural and true process.
We want what’s best for our children. It’s selfless. We push through the pain when we’re sick and sore to the depths of our bones. We don’t call in a sick day, because we can’t, even if we wanted to. You can’t get that authenticity or devotion through other means.
No one is ‘only a Mother’ because Motherhood is the essence of life. It’s touched every single one of us. It’s how we ARE. How we BECAME. And how life will CONTINUE.
